ISLAMABAD Muhammad Bashar, a ten-year-old from Swat in Pakistan, has made his nation proud by placing fourth in an international Quran recitation competition that took place in Algeria.
His accomplishment demonstrated the close spiritual and cultural ties that exist between Algeria and Pakistan.
Recently, Bashar took part in the international “Mazamir Dawood” Quran reciting competition, which was run by the Algerian private media source Echorouk.
Participants in the competition, which ran from August 18 to August 31, came from more than 15 different nations.
After placing fourth in the esteemed tournament, Bashar has been awarded a $1,500 prize.
Every year, Echorouk organizes this event, which features the skills of young Quran reciters from all over the world.
