Speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq chastised Islamabad Inspector General (IG) of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi on Tuesday, the day after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) legislators were pursued inside the Parliament’s walls, and demanded their immediate release.
“No one may be arrested within Parliament House or its lodges. “These lawmakers ought to be freed right away,” the speaker declared.
Sadiq’s order follows the arrest of PTI lawmakers and the vehement statement made by the party’s leader, Ali Muhammad Khan, on the lower house floor today.
Sadiq saw the video of PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat’s arrest and expressed his “great sadness” over the incident.
“How was it possible to detain a member of parliament?” inquired the speaker of IG Rizvi.
