According to Reuters, the British government designated Hizb ut-Tahrir as a banned terrorist organization on Monday, linking the political organization to infamous organizations like ISIS and al-Qaeda.
The proscription is planned to take effect from January 19 pending confirmation by parliament, according to the Home Office.
“Hizb ut-Tahrir is an antisemitic organization that actively promotes and encourages terrorism, including praising and celebrating the appalling 7 October attacks,” Home Secretary James Cleverly said in order to highlight the decision.
He was alluding to the 1,200 deaths caused by the acts of the Palestinian organization Hamas in southern Israel.
shrewdly noted that Hizb ut-Tahrir promoted and encouraged terrorism by endorsing the aforementioned acts and portraying Hamas as heroes on their website.
