Due to an increase in international rates, gold prices in Pakistan saw a record rise and hit an all-time high on Monday.
In the local market, the price of a tola of 24-karat gold skyrocketed by Rs1,700, reaching Rs268,000.
All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) reports that the price of ten-gram 24 carat gold also saw a significant increase, rising by Rs1,458 to close at Rs229,76.

Local price increases are consistent with worldwide patterns. According to the APGJSA, the price of gold increased $10 during the trading day on the international market, reaching $2,587 per ounce.
Silver prices, meanwhile, stayed steady at Rs 2,950.
