It has been one hundred days since Israel launched its attack on Gaza.
During that period, Israel dropped almost 65,000 tons of bombs on the beleaguered enclave, trapping 2.3 million Palestinians inside an area smaller than 400 square kilometers. As a result, the death toll among Gaza’s Palestinian residents has increased to around 24,000.
On October 7, Israel launched an offensive on Gaza in retaliation for an attack by fighters with weapons from the Qassam Brigades, Hamas’ military branch, and other Palestinian organizations. Approximately 240 persons were brought into custody and 1,140 people perished in the incident.
Israel responded by launching a devastating bombing campaign and tightening the suffocating embargo that had been in place over Gaza since 2007.
