Just hours before Republicans will convene in Iowa to select their nominee for president in November 2024, Donald Trump, who has not participated in the GOP debates, declared on Monday that it will be a “tremendous night” for him.
“We won it twice as you know, two elections, and I think we’re going to have a tremendous night tonight,” said Donald Trump in a quick interview with the media as he was heading to the Hotel Fort Des Moines.
The candidates for the party had to postpone their campaign activities due to the below-freezing weather in Iowa, where the Republicans are hosting their first caucus.
The 77-year-old expressed gratitude to his followers for attending his rallies. Regarding this, he declared, “The people are amazing in terms of spirit; I’ve never seen anything like it outside of Iowa.”
However, the Republican presidential contenders voiced concern about poor voter turnout in the bitter cold.
Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis acknowledged on Monday that the bitter cold may have an effect on voter participation, but he also urged people to cast their ballots in the GOP caucuses in order to support them for “the next eight years.”
