In reaction to growing security concerns, the Punjab government enforced Section 144 in Mianwali for a period of seven days.
All political gatherings, including sit-ins, rallies, protests, and related events, were forbidden by this prohibition, according to a notification from the Punjab Home Department. The limitations went into force on October 1 and lasted until October 7.
The district administration’s advice were taken into consideration when the decision was made, and Rangers were stationed nearby.
In order to maintain public safety, two companies of Rangers were stationed in Mianwali from October 1 to October 3.
As stated in the notification, public gatherings could serve as easy targets for possible terrorist acts, so the execution of Section 144 was intended to preserve law and order as well as protect lives and property.
