The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been causing delays in the current intra-party election case, according to a statement released by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
PTI conducted its intra-party elections on March 3, 2024, according to the ECP. However, the process was tainted by a number of issues, which led the commission to take notice and formally notify PTI on April 23, 2024.
Five adjournments were requested by PTI in the six sessions that have taken place since the initial hearing on April 30, according to the ECP. PTI asked for extra time in today’s session, which the ECP claimed has caused a major delay in the case’s settlement.
The statement said, “The Election Commission has consistently shown flexibility and has given PTI numerous opportunities to meet constitutional requirements.”
