Several police officers were reportedly hurt during these altercations, which caused traffic disruptions on The Mall and congestion on nearby city thoroughfares including Lytton Road, Fane Road, Temple Road, etc.
When the demonstrators tried to take down the roadblocks that were erected to prevent them from moving toward the CM House, the police stopped them close to Lawrence Garden. The demonstrators have been holding a sit-in at Charing Cross.
More skirmishes resulted from the adamant protestors’ refusal to leave despite the police’s best efforts to scatter them around the Governor House.
On the nearby roadways, there was a traffic jam.
As a result, numerous visually-impaired protesters incurred injury.
