Imran Khan’s two sisters have reportedly been moved to the Secretariat police station, according the authorities.
In addition, the police scattered several PTI workers with tear gas shells and arrested a large number of them.
The PTI demonstrators threw stones at the police.
The Islamabad police said that all gatherings were prohibited and threatened to take legal action against anyone trying to disrupt the calm in the nation’s capital.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi requested that PTI postpone its demonstration in Islamabad the day before, citing the presence of Pakistan Army personnel in the city.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Mohsin Naqvi announced that a Saudi delegation would be visiting Pakistan following the visit of the prime minister of Malaysia.
