Speaking at the launch event in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz stated that the Punjab government had simplified the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar program and that loans would only be granted based on identity cards and land records.
Among those in attendance were Senator Pervaiz Rashid, senior Punjab minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, former prime minister and leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Nawaz Sharif, and others.

The Punjab chief minister stated that the Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar project was the dream of Nawaz Sharif, adding that the Punjab government is going to give the first installment of the loan in a short period of one and a half months.
