With past teams Lyon and Barcelona, the England international has five European championships to his name.
In their first group game on Tuesday, Chelsea defeated Real Madrid 3-2 at Stamford Bridge, but they also allowed them chances to get back into the game.
“We simply surrendered goals. We were the better team that evening; we had great ball control during our possession of the ball and scored well, but we ought to have given up early when we had a 3-1 lead in the second half, Bronze continued.
We could have scored more and prevented them from getting back into the game since we were playing really well.
When you allow a team to reenter the Champions League, they can penalize you.
Bronze played for Barcelona when the Spanish team lost to Chelsea in the opening leg of their Women’s Champions League semifinal matchup the previous year, but they bounced back to make the final and won the championship twice.
“I am aware that the team has the talent and the drive to win the Champions League, whether we are playing for Chelsea or against them,” the 32-year-old stated.
“This team has defeated two of Europe’s top teams, Barcelona and Lyon, and I believe we will have improved from last year.”
