May 2026 will mark the date of the upcoming Welsh parliamentarian election.
Rhun ap Iorwerth told News that a Plaid triumph was “of course” conceivable and that a Labour victory was “not inevitable” ahead of the party’s two-day conference on Friday at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
“It is evident that change is feasible, as evidenced by the poll conducted right after the UK general election, which put us just one percentage point behind Labour.”
It’s my responsibility to position us to offer the people of Wales the best possible deal.
During the general election, Plaid Cymru achieved its largest vote share since its founding and four of Wales’s thirty-two seats.
After the results of the UK general election, Mr. ap Iorwerth stated he thought the party, which is in favor of Welsh independence, did have a significant role to play.
Plaid Cymru’s role is made even apparent and more crucial by Labour’s emerging coalition in Cardiff Bay and Westminster, which they have dubbed a partnership in power.
I believe that we become even more evident in the minds of people as the party that will approach the UK government with our demands in a constructive, positive, and unwavering manner.
