Although the brand is among the most well-liked sports games available, there have apparently been a lot of production problems with it this year.
This year’s game, FM25, was dubbed a “new era” by creator Sports Interactive (SI), as it featured the much-anticipated addition of a women’s game and a new engine.
SI acknowledged that it had been a “difficult development cycle” and acknowledged encountering unforeseen issues when announcing some features would be removed from the most recent version in an update published in September.
SI announced last month that FM25’s release date had been moved back from the beginning to the end of November and that features like foreign management will not be included in it.
SI then announced on Thursday that the game would now not be released until March 2025.
The company released a statement saying, “After careful consideration, Sports Interactive have made the difficult decision to further delay the release of Football Manager 25.”
The extra time from the September delay was claimed to have “not been sufficient” to guarantee the developer could create a game up to its desired standards.
