The Pakistan Meteorological Department’s (PMD) chief meteorologist, Sardar Sarfaraz, stated on Friday that while there may be light rain and wind in some areas of Karachi, the city’s intense heat will not be reduced.
The port city’s mercury might get as high as 40°C, and rain is not likely to affect it.
A day earlier, the city of Karachi’s inhabitants had a break from the oppressive heat when a few short showers, followed by gusts of wind and hail, fell in some areas of the port city, making the weather bearable.
While the city was suffering from oppressive heat, ominous clouds began to roll across various parts of the city, causing rain and even a hailstorm in some locations.
Unexpected rainfall soaked parts of Karachi, soaking its central areas.
