Concerned by the dubious involvement of two TikTok users, the management of a private institution in Lahore has formally asked the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to look into a reported rape allegation.
The administration asserts that the students started a social media campaign accusing the university of misconduct after receiving a reprimand from the vice-principal for taking unapproved videos on campus.
The college administration said in the appeal that after October 12, the campaign swiftly gained momentum and resulted in demonstrations across several cities. The college claims that as a result of the viral effort, violent attacks on campus property, the transmission of incorrect information, and harm to the institution’s reputation occurred.
The college also asked for action to be taken against the perpetrators of destruction, protests, and misleading propaganda. The victim’s family has not yet received
