In Jamrud tehsil, the jirga started on October 11 and ended on Sunday.
Under the condition of anonymity, three delegates informed Dawn that PTM president Manzoor Pashteen’s suggestion to create a tribal lashkar with 30,000 volunteers from each tribal district was rejected during talks.
They maintained that before the final declaration was approved, the delegates from various political parties and professional associations opposed the concept of setting up a permanent secretariat at the jirga’s location.
Delegates maintain that they did not support the jirga secretariat’s and tribal lashkar positions.
The delegates drew attention to the fact that Mr. Pashteen included the two rejected ideas to the final proclamation without first discussing the other delegates.
