KARACHI: In the AVC men’s volleyball national cup, Pakistan defeated Chinese Taipei 3-2 in their last group C match after a thrilling comeback. Pakistan lost a two-set lead in the match, but they rallied to win the fifth set, which was the deciding factor. The scores were 25-20, 25-22, 21-25, 16-25, and 18-16.
Pakistan dominated the opening two sets by taking advantage of Chinese Taipei’s mistakes. But in response, the Chinese Taipei played better offensively and won the following two frames to tie the match. The most dramatic set came in the fifth, when Pakistan overcame an 8-5 deficit to convert their third match point at 18-16.
There were opposing strengths in the encounter. The difference was created by Pakistan’s defense, which outblocked their opponents 14–4.
