October is acknowledged as Breast Cancer Awareness Month internationally, with the goal of raising awareness and encouraging early detection and efficient treatment for women all over the world.
This month is actively used by the World Health Organization and other organizations to educate women about early detection and prevention of breast cancer.
Survivors of breast cancer frequently act as a beacon of hope for others. A survivor named Mrs. Samina described her experience: “I was really nervous when I was diagnosed, but my doctor calmed me, and prompt treatment saved my life. My advice to women is to be checked out very away and not to ignore any bumps. Early intervention can prevent death.”
In a similar vein, Skardu-born Mrs. Faheema described her experience: “I went for a routine check-up and was told I had breast cancer.”
