The China Population and Development Research Center, which is under the NHC, was cited by the state-backed Global Times late on Thursday to report that the poll will include participants from 1,500 distinct villages and 150 counties in China.
Beijing is attempting to encourage young couples to become parents in the wake of China’s population drop that continued for a second year in a row in 2023.
According to the publication, the survey’s final goal is to analyze “reluctance and fear surrounding having children” and offer fertility support and incentive programs.
