Meta is currently looking to strengthen its ad review system with facial recognition technology, which employs artificial intelligence (AI) to identify phony celebrity endorsements.
It will compare pictures from advertisements that have been flagged as questionable.
The image will be automatically removed if it is verified to be a match and the advertisement is fraudulent.
The system will now begin displaying in-app messages to a wider range of public personalities who have been impacted by so-called “celeb-bait,” according to Meta, which added that “early testing” of the technology has showed “promising results.”
