During the 31st day of the World Culture Festival at the Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP) in Karachi, a groundbreaking performance of Cocoon Dance’s dreamy saltation of “unthought body” and Ballet de Barcelona’s skillful choreography “Tongues” transported the audience to a surreal realm.
Cocoon Dance, a German-Swiss contemporary group, explored the “unthought body,” transforming the stage into an experimental environment where movement, improvisation, and audience participation push the boundaries of traditional dance.
Their strong yet abstract performances made audiences more conscious of the relationship between representation and perception, resulting in a memorable exploration of body and mind.
The performance art collective, which became a major force in contemporary dance, was established in 2000 by dramaturge Rainald Endraß and choreographer Rafaële Giovanola.”
