During an in-camera meeting on Monday, the registrar informed the Full Court that the Supreme Court is working on a Case Management Plan 2023 to clear a backlog of up to 59,191 cases in the highest court.
According to the registrar, the one-month strategy was created by senior puisne judge Justice Mansoor Ali Shah as part of the SC’s endeavors to address the steps toward prompt case decisions.
The two-hour-long meeting was chaired by Pakistan’s Chief Justice, Yahya Afridi. According to the statement, every judge from the highest court was present. Through a video link, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah participated in the meeting from Saudi Arabia, where he is performing Umrah.
