Last week, the Irish actress joined actors Paul Mescal, Eddie Redmayne, and Denzel Washington on the show.
Redmayne said that during his assassination training for The Day of the Jackal, he had learned how to use a phone as a weapon.
Ronan said, “That’s what girls have to think about all the time,” as Mescal asked if anyone would actually have time to pull out their phone during an attack. Ladies, am I correct?
The audience cheered her on, and the video has been making the rounds on social media in this.
Ronan said the response was “definitely not something that I had expected, and I didn’t necessarily set out to sort of make a splash” on Wednesday when speaking with Ryan Tubridy of Virgin Radio UK.
“Starting a dialogue”
The discussion, according to Ronan, who is starring in the upcoming Oscar-tipped movie Blitz, reflects how society views women’s safety.
“I think there’s something really telling about the society that we’re in right now and about how open women want to be with the men in their lives,” she stated.
“It felt very similar to when I am at dinner with a bunch of my friends and I will always make the point that, well, this is actually an experience that we go through every day,” the 30-year-old continued.
