A resolution was enacted in October by the town of Delmar, Delaware, stating that “there shall be one (1) night of ‘Trick or Treat'” on October 31 from 6 to 8 p.m., “with the age limit being twelve (12) years or under.”
There “shall be no ‘Mischief Night’ anywhere in the corporate limits of the Town of Delmar,” according to the resolution.

According to the website National Today, teens play practical jokes on one another on “Mischief Night,” which is customarily celebrated on the day before Halloween.
In a phone conversation with News, Delmar Town Manager Jeff Fleetwood stated that these kinds of rules are typical for most localities and that they are “just suggestions.”
Fleetwood added, “We will have an additional police officer on duty for Halloween.”
There are other American towns that have tried to implement regulations on trick-or-treating besides Delmar.
