Barry Keoghan is unable to shake the memory of his late mother’s heroin addiction.
In an open interview, Barry disclosed that he was placed in foster care as a youngster because of his mother’s addiction and spent his early years in a variety of homes.
The Bafta-winning actor had no ties with his father and lost his mother when he was twelve.
“That kind of haunts me still, you don’t forget those things,” Barry said when discussing his mother’s addiction during an appearance on The Louis Theroux Podcast.
“Don’t forget waiting on the social worker’s steps and waiting for the new family to come and play with you in the office playground,” the Saltburn star went on.
