KARACHI: Asim Khan of Pakistan defeated Temwa Chileshe of New Zealand in the first round of the London Open squash tournament, kicking off his season with a strong win.
Khan won 11-9, 11-6, and 11-15 to win the match in straight games.
Asim played well the entire time, keeping control and reacting quickly to Chileshe’s moves.
Asim had to fight hard in the third game, which he won after a long battle, after winning the first two games with ease.
He is off to a strong start in this Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour Copper event with his dominant performance.
Top seed Auguste Dussourd of France will be a more formidable opponent for Asim in the tournament’s second round.
