In October 2024, Pakistan received $3.1 billion in worker remittances, the largest amount of the current fiscal year 2024–25. This helped to stabilize the rupee against the dollar and increase the nation’s foreign exchange reserves.
On Friday, the State Bank of Pakistan announced that workers’ remittances saw inflows of US$3.1 billion in October 2024.
Remittances from non-residents reached a record-breaking $3.24 billion in May 2024, setting a new record. It took place before to the June celebration of Eidul Azha.
Remittances grew by 6.7% month over month and 23.9% year over year, respectively.
