At the Adelaide Oval on Friday, Pakistan thrashed Australia by nine wickets to tie their one-day series after Saim Ayub struck a daring 82 and Abdullah Shafique an undefeated 64.
Thanks to pace leader Haris Rauf’s 5-29, Pakistan scored 169-1 with a massive 141 balls remaining in response to the hosts’ modest 163 all out.
Australia won a tight opening game in Melbourne by two wickets, setting up a series final at Perth Stadium on Sunday.
With just 47 runs from the first 10 overs, openers Ayub and Shafique got the chase off to a poor start after being pinned down by Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins.
However, they soon started to stroke the bat, with Ayub hitting a massive six off Cummins and then another off Mitchell Starc.
