ISLAMABAD: Salman Akram Raja is not recognized as the PTI’s secretary general by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s constitution.
According to PTI insiders who spoke to The News, the PTI constitution does not allow for the “nomination” of someone who has never been chosen as a member of the “Panel of Secretary General” as secretary general.
In the event that this crucial party position becomes empty, only a backup secretary general may assume the role.
According to these reports, Raja has not yet been named as Omar Ayub’s replacement and Ayub, the party’s chosen secretary general, has not been denotified.
