Prosecutors have said that Sean “Diddy” Combs has tried to influence public opinion ahead of his impending sex trafficking trial by contacting potential witnesses from behind bars.
The charges were disclosed in a federal court filing in Manhattan, where the prosecution is contesting the 55-year-old rapper’s most recent bail request of $50 million (£39 million). Next week, a bail hearing is planned.
Combs entered a not guilty plea to allegations that he used a network of associates and workers to intimidate and abuse women for years, using physical beatings, kidnapping, arson, and blackmail to silence victims.
He vehemently rejects any misconduct and claims that his sexual connections were consensual.
