Rescue personnel responded quickly to a fire that started at the Mehran Hotel on Shahrah e Faisal in Karachi on Monday, but the fire was extinguished by the afternoon, according to rescue officials.
The mission in charge of Sindh Rescue 1122 told News that traffic on the road caused a delay in the response time.
According to preliminary accounts, the hotel’s second level was the scene of the incident. Three KMC vehicles and two Rescue 1122 firefighting vehicles participated in the operation, he said.
Thick smoke made it difficult for firefighters to reach the hotel’s third floor, where the fire was at its worst. However, they were able to enter by breaking windows and successfully combat the fire.
