Conor McGregor’s trial jury has been informed that it makes no difference if they “loathe” him.
The Irish mixed martial arts (MMA) competitor’s attorney, Remy Farrell SC, started his closing argument at Dublin High Court on Tuesday.
Nikita Hand, a Dublin lady, accused the athlete of rape on a December 2018 Christmas night out. He refutes every accusation.
The Director of Public Prosecutions in Ireland declined to bring criminal charges against Mr. McGregor, so the trial is being held in the Dublin High Court as a civil case.
“The evidence is what matters.”
Mr. Farrell informed the jury that “the evidence is what matters.”
“The case doesn’t get reduced to a hot take or what color writers in newspapers claim it’s about.”
