The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Wednesday that a suicide attack in the District of Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), claimed the lives of at least 12 security personnel.
A joint check post in the general region of Mali Khel in Bannu was targeted by terrorists or “khawarij” on Tuesday, November 19, according to a statement from the military’s media wing.
“In [the] ensuing fire exchange, six terrorists were sent to hell,” the statement said, adding that the forces successfully stopped the assailants’ attempt to penetrate the station by forcing them to crash an explosives-laden car into the post’s outer wall.
The military’s media wing provided more explanation for the attack, stating that the suicide explosion caused part of the perimeter wall to collapse.
