Blues manager Enzo Maresca has disclosed that Chelsea captain Reece James has experienced yet another setback following a hamstring injury sustained during training.
After having hamstring surgery to assist him recover from a string of ailments, the 24-year-old missed a significant portion of the previous season but made a comeback last month.
Maresca said James will miss Saturday’s game against Leicester but downplayed worries over a lengthy layoff.
He stated: “We don’t want to take a chance for the weekend because we only have one injured player, Reece James, who regrettably experienced a minor injury during training two days ago.
It’s a muscular issue with the hamstrings. We want him to stay fit for a longer period of time, but we’re not sure how long that will be. Right now.
