In the United States, supporters of Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), gathered outside the Mar-a-Lago home of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump in Palm Beach, Florida, one day before the party’s “do-or-die” demonstration in Islamabad.
Signs with the words “I stand with Imran Khan” and “Release Imran Khan” were held by the protesters.
Despite strict security measures meant to keep protesters out of the federal capital, the PTI is adamant about marching on Islamabad today (Sunday) with the demand for Khan’s release. The demonstration was part of a larger show of solidarity for the imprisoned former prime minister amid ongoing political tensions in the nation.
