A day before the party’s “do-or-die” demonstration in Islamabad, supporters of Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), gathered outside the home of US President-elect Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.
The slogans “I stand with Imran Khan” and “Release Imran Khan” were displayed on placards held by the protesters.
As the PTI continues to march on Islamabad with the demand for Khan’s release today (Sunday), despite strict security measures meant to keep protesters out of the federal capital, the demonstration was part of a larger show of solidarity for the imprisoned former prime minister amid ongoing political tensions in the nation.
