In preparation for more PTI protests, authorities have once again blocked traffic on Lahore’s Ring Road. The route had been reopened the night before, but police sources say security concerns are the cause for the closure.
When the party’s demonstration arrived at D-Chowk in Islamabad, it was finally over.
The Punjab provincial government had previously partially reopened several highways the day before and closed all points of entry and departure to Lahore in order to avoid the protests. Additionally, Ring Road was briefly reopened with increased security.
However, the renewed shutdown in Lahore is a result of the PTI protest convoy’s arrival at D-Chowk.
The continuous road closures in the Gujranwala district are causing shortages and price increases, which is raising concerns about fuel shortages in the area.
