Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was sharply criticized by Information Minister Attaullah Tarar after the party abruptly canceled their demonstration in Islamabad.
“Such a colossal failure has become their fate,” he stated during a press conference. This was just a missed call, not the last one.
After a midnight crackdown by law enforcement agencies (LEAs) that effectively dispersed the PTI workers who had congregated in the federal capital, the Imran Khan-founded party announced a “temporary suspension” of its “do-or-die” protest. The minister’s comments followed this announcement.
Both Khan’s wife and former first lady Bushra Bibi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur were placed under incommunicado as a result of the government action.
