KOHAT: Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has directed authorities to destroy rival tribes’ dugouts and confiscate their weapons as the death toll from ongoing tribal clashes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kurram district has increased despite ceasefire attempts.
At a great jirga held in Kohat district, which was attended by elders from the opposing tribes, the province chief executive gave the orders.
The most recent round of violence, which is now in its tenth day, has killed at least 124 people and injured 178 more. The nocturnal firing claimed the lives of two more people and injured ten more.
