Days prior to the intended civil disobedience campaign spearheaded by Imran Khan, the previous ruling party declared that it is open to conversation, whether it be with people or “farishtay” (angels), a reference to the establishment.
PTI senior official Omar Ayub Khan described his party’s new negotiating strategy by stating, “We are ready for talks, be it with humans or farishtay [angels],” thus departing from the former ruling party’s prior position.
The Imran Khan-founded group previously believed that they would only negotiate with the military establishment and not the government.
