ISLAMABAD Maleeha Lodhi, Pakistan’s former ambassador to the UN, has denied that the US sanctions will have any influence on Pakistan, claiming they will have “zero effect.”
Speaking on the ” Pakistan” show on News, Lodhi emphasized that US sanctions against Pakistan are not a recent occurrence.
“The United States has imposed sanctions ever since Pakistan pursued its nuclear program, but they have had no real impact,” said Lodhi, who was also the envoy to the US.
Lodhi criticized what she called the US’s discriminating stance, pointing out that India, whose missile program is far more advanced, has not been subjected to any such penalties.
She reiterated that Pakistan will not be impacted by the sanctions, saying, “This is a clear double standard by the US.”
