In Sunday’s third and final one-day international (ODI) at Wanderers Stadium in Sandton, Pakistan defeated South Africa by 36 runs, completing a historic ODI thumping of the Proteas.
The South African team lost by 271 runs after attempting to reach a goal of 309 runs in 47 overs.
While Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah each claimed two wickets, Pakistan’s youthful left-arm leggie Sufiyan Muqeem stole the show with the ball, claiming four. Saim Ayub produced an efficient session, conceding just 34 runs in his ten overs while taking one wicket.
Heinrich Klassen, the wicket-keeper batsman, demonstrated some tenacity with his 81 runs in 43 balls.
