JOHANNESBURG: In preparation for the third and final one-day international (ODI) match against South Africa, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made three roster changes on Sunday.
Muhammad Irfan Khan, Haris Rauf, and Abrar Ahmed were replaced by middle-order batsman Tayyab Tahir, pacer Muhammad Hasnain, and rising uncapped left-arm spinner Sufiyan Muqeem, respectively, for the Green Shirts, who are ahead 2-0 in the three-match series.
The left-arm spinner’s outstanding efforts in the most recent Twenty20 International series against Zimbabwe, which included his record bowling figures of 5/3, won him a spot in the starting lineup.
The action is part of the PCB’s goal to ensure player rotation while also providing opportunities to up-and-coming talent.
