Following the death of an Elizabeth line worker at an east London station, a man has been charged with murder.
At around 20:50 GMT on December 4, the British Transport Police (BTP) were summoned to the Ilford station, where Jorge Ortega, 61, was transported to the hospital with severe head injuries. Two days later, he passed away in the hospital.
Affray charges have also been brought against Ayodele Jambgadi of Kingston Road in Ilford. According to the BTP, the 28-year-old’s accusations have been changed after he was first charged with grievous bodily harm.
On January 7, the defendant is scheduled to appear at Inner London Crown Court.
