ISLAMABAD According to a ruling-side committee member quoted by The News, the release of Imran Khan, the PTI’s founder, is still the party’s top priority in the crucial negotiations with the government.
In all rounds of negotiations, the previous ruling party has insisted on the former prime minister’s freedom rather than the possibility of home imprisonment, this committee member further stated.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, a committee member stated, “During the December 23 meeting, PTI made Khan’s release its first demand.”
“They demonstrated how important this demand is to them by demanding the release of Khan and others right from the beginning of the January 2 meeting.”
