PESHAWAR, PARACHINAR: Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Information Advisor, announced on Sunday that the assistance convoy, which was originally scheduled to leave for Kurram on Saturday, would now head for the troubled area after receiving security clearance.
“The Kurram event from yesterday does not strike me as a significant setback. As soon as [we] have the security clearance, the [relief] convoy will depart,” a spokesman for the KP government told News.
Following yesterday’s gun attack on Kurram Deputy Commissioner Javedullah Mehsud on Saturday, the Parachinar-Tal road was closed, causing vehicles parked at Tal to impede the relief convoy carrying crucial items for the crisis-hit Kurram district.
