Imran Khan’s lawyer announced on Thursday that a worldwide parliamentary organization has chosen to send a representative to watch the trials of the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry, Khan’s attorney, told news that after speaking with an Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) official about the former prime minister’s issues, the IPU chose to send a trial observer.
Pakistan is a member of the IPU, which supports parliamentary diplomacy and gives parliaments and lawmakers the authority to advance democracy, peace, and sustainable development globally.
“The IPU representative was briefed on the judicial proceedings in the £190 million case,” Chaudhry told reporters. “They were also informed about the Toshakhana cases.”
