The move followed the federal government’s high-level investigation into the terrible boat accident in Morocco earlier this month that claimed the lives of dozens of Pakistani migrants trying to reach Spain from West Africa.
An FIA spokesperson stated in a statement on Saturday that the agency opened an investigation against 20 of its officers on suspicion of engaging in human smuggling. It further stated that the victims of the doomed boat were purportedly expelled from airports by the officials.
