And he was—in a celebration that city authorities helped plan to commemorate this legal milestone, they became the sixth couple to register their union at one of Bangkok’s most prestigious shopping malls.
On Thursday, hundreds of couples in Thailand were given their marriage licenses, bursting with joy or tears at the long-awaited event.
District officials held festivities with free cup cakes and photo booths, and the first couple to register their marriage in one Bangkok district received airline tickets. It was a pageant of colors and costumes.
